Dear Parents,

Birla High School Alumni on the momentous occasion of 75years of Indian Independence is organising an inspiring talk by Dr Kumar Vishwas (poet, author and motivational speaker) on 7^th May 2022 at Science City auditorium. It is our proud privilege that students of classes 9 and 10 of Birla High School have been invited for the same.

The school will be arranging transport for the students from school and back.

• Reporting Time: 8:00 a.m. from Sushila Birla Girls’ School GATE 3.
• Dispersal time 1:30 p.m. from Birla High School GATE 1.
• Students will be provided refreshment before boarding the bus in the morning as well as on return.
• Students should not carry food and other belongings inside the auditorium.

 

N.B. Plastic bottle /packet and eatables are not allowed inside the auditorium. Mobile phones should be kept in silent mode in the auditorium.

Dear Parents,

Due to the ongoing heat wave Classes 6 to 9 will have online classes from 2^nd to 14^th May & from 13^th to 15^th June, 2022.

Class 10 to 12 will continue to have offline classes as the dates mentioned in Notice No.06/2022-23.

The vaccination camp, which was to be held on 6^th May, 2022 will be organized as per schedule.

The program for classes IX & X at the Science City Auditorium will be held as planned earlier.

NOTICE

Dear Parents,

As you are aware your ward has taken the first dose of Corbevax in the camp organised by the school on 6^th May, 2022. The second round of the camp will be held as per the details appended below. You are requested to ensure that your ward takes the same on the stipulated day. Students who wish to take the first dose may also register.Details are as follows:

·  Day & Date of the Camp : Friday, 6^th May, 2022

· Entry and Exit from Gate No. 6 (Prayer Hall Gate) : Only one parent / escort to accompany   

   the student and wait in the Prayer Hall till the vaccination is administered.

· It is mandatory that students get their verification done before they proceed for   

   vaccination in the Verification room. (Room No.113)

Dear Parents,

The virulent nature of the new COVID variant continues to give cause for concern.

We, as an educational institution, would like to avoid any further impediments that may threaten the smooth conduct of classes and end up widening the learning gaps further in our students.

Some of our students are yet to take their vaccine and we strongly recommend you to get them vaccinated as early as possible Please consider this to be your social responsibility in the larger interest of the student community and members of our staff.

We are gearing up to organize vaccination camps like in the past. Students who are willing to avail of this opportunity need to inform their class teacher about the same by Tuesday, 19th April, 2022. Please fill in the form below and have it sent back to your ward’s class teacher.

RE: VIRTUAL ORIENTATION SESSION, ONLINE ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

In continuation with the earlier circular no. 64/2021-22 dated 31^st March, 2022 regarding the Orientation for classes VI, VII and VIII and classes IX and X, kindly take note of the following :

⚫  A virtual Orientation session for classes VI, VII and VIII will be held as scheduled on Saturday, 9^th April, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.The Zoom link for the same will be shared by the class teacher.

⚫  The virtual Orientation session for classes IX and X has been postponed to  Saturday, 23^rd April, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. The zoom link for the same will be shared by the class teachers.

⚫   We will be hosting our Annual Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony on Saturday, 23^rd April, 2022 on our Facebook Page from 11:00 a.m. We request all parents and students to log in for the same.

This is to inform you in association with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation that the school will be holding a vaccination camp in the School Campus on 6^th April , 2022.The students along with their parents are to use Gate No. 1 for entry and exit.

Time Slots for registration will be as follows:

Notice No.01/2022-23 04/04/2022

Notice Regarding School Fees

It has been our proud privilege to provide the best in education and personality development to our students for over 80 years and we have always received due support from all parents.

However, in the current abnormal phase the reciprocal concerns of the parents and the school go back to the early times of the setting of the pandemic, April 2020 to be more precise. We have traversed a rather rough path which has left us with issues that may take some time to be addressed fully. It has again been the solidarity between the parents and the institution which has been the hallmark of this period as also patience, mutual support and mature understanding. The school has intended throughout the pandemic to stand by the needs of the online teaching to our students and its outstanding quality that was the need of the hour. We have also been proactive in addressing and understanding difficulties of certain parents facing financial pressures, while, at all times, abiding by the directions of the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, as issued from time to time.

 I would want to list out the measures taken from our side to build the required solidarity and understanding.

• There has been no increase in fees since the academic session 2019-20.
• The school had voluntarily introduced fees reduction since April 2020 to cover only those facilities that were being provided, much before the directions of the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court in this regard.
• We voluntarily waived off late fine charges and provided extensions of last dates of fee payment for the entire duration of the pandemic from April, 2020 to March, 2022.
• The facility of making reduced fee payment on a monthly basis was introduced in October 2020 and was extended voluntarily for the entire duration of the pandemic till the instruction of the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court for monthly payments which were received only in February 2022.
• We have provided concessions over and above the 80% stipulation laid down by the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court, to those parents who deserved additional relief to the extent of providing even full waivers in certain deserving cases.
• The planned scholarships that have been part of academic sessions have continued throughout the pandemic as hither fore.
• No coercive action for non-payment of fees has been taken despite certain cases having long outstanding dues.
• No members of staff have been denied their dues in the pandemic period nor any kind of pay cuts have been implemented.
• The school has followed the orders of the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court in letter and spirit despite a large fee backlog on the one hand and increasing costs due to inflationary trends in upkeep,maintenance and salary bills, especially the large increase due to the Government Sixth Pay Commission implementation, on the other.​

Now that the fog of the pandemic is lifting and conditions are improving rapidly all round, the schools would be reopening in full strength from 04th April 2022. We are gearing up to welcome the full school strength and eagerly waiting to commence the physical teaching/ learning process conforming to the high standards associated with our school. The revised fees structure for Academic Session 2022-23 (which we are entitled to charge in terms of the order of the Hon’ble High Court since restriction imposed by the Hon’ble High Court is no longer applicable for the Academic Session 2022-2023 and which we believe are fair and reasonable as the structure still recognizes the difficulties enumerated above) has been intimated to you vide Circular No. 60/2021-22 dated 04/03/2022, including the last date of fees deposit which is 10^th April 2022, and we implore you to follow this.
