The Banyan Tree (2023 - 24)

The school magazine of 2023-24, themed on "Kolkata : Unveiling the City's Joy", is a platform where the students have displayed their cognitive and creative ideas. The magazine is also a testament to celebrate the laurels won by the institution and individuals in various fields. The magazine focuses to uphold the city's rich heritage and trace how the metropolis has gone through a paradigm shift with the passage of time. Guided by Ms Sanjukta Mazumdar, Ms Kasturi Banerjee and Mr Spandan Banerjee, the editorial board comprising the students of the senior section of the school have worked towards the publication of this edition of 'The Banyan Tree'.

The Banyan Tree (2021 - 22)

The school magazine for the year 2021-22 was published with the theme of '80 years of academic excellence'. This year's issue is a combined effort that canopies both the junior and senior section wings of Birla High School. Besides the creative splendours and cognitive outputs, the magazine has been a coherence of digital and traditional effort. The interactive platform where the readers would get transported to the actual events through the scanning of the QR code is something to look out for. The magazine has been idealized by the the editorial team comprising Sarbo Sarcar, Udit, Arun Nath, Yudhajit Ghosh, Pushkar Pandey, Nakshat Pandey, Dipro Sur Roy Chowdhury, Somdipta Chatterjee, Krish Shaw and Bhaskar Agarwal under the guidance of Ms. Sanjukta Majumdar, Ms. Kasturi Banerjee and Mr. Spandan Banerjee.

The Banyan Tree (2020 - 21)

Like every year, this year also, Birla High School had published its annual school magazine, ‘The Banyan Tree’. Keeping in tune with the pandemic scenario, ‘The Banyan Tree’ was published as an e-magazine or e-zine. The students of Birla High School showcased their creative abilities, through articles, poetry and painting in this magazine. The cover page has been designed to make a statement against the deadly corona virus. The present edition of ‘The Banyan Tree’ (2020-21) includes new sections named ‘Lockdown Page Turners’ and ‘Stillness Answers the Cry’ to portray the new normal phase. This magazine was published under the able guidance of the Editors-in-Chief, Mrs Kasturi Banerjee and Mr. Spandan Banerjee.

It also involves designing the cover and layout too. The present edition of The Banyan Tree (2018 - 19) includes new additions such as sections named “A Day In BHS” and “Antiquities of Kolkata”. This magazine was published under the able guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, Ms. L. Agarwal.

The annual school magazine, The Banyan Tree is a platform for students to showcase their numerous creative abilities, be it poetry or painting in front of an audience. It unleashes for the students a wide spectrum of creative skills that also involves designing the magazine.The present edition of The Banyan Tree (2016 - 17) includes many new additions such as a section devoted to a celebrity interview, messages by school leaders and also Counsellors' and Coordinators' messages.

The school magazine "The Banyan Tree" is published annually. The Platinum Jubilee Souvenier will be published soon. It serves as a forum for the expression of the literary and artistic skills of the students, besides highlighting the forays made by the school in international exchange programs, school celebrations, the various competitions that the students participate in, the awards won by the students, the work done by various clubs, to name a few.
