Sony India Private Limited's PlayStation division recently organised a promotional workshop on the 25th and 26th of July, 2017 at Birla High School’s Mathematics Laboratory.
The setup of the event included 11 Sony PlayStation 4 consoles and 1 VR (Virtual Reality Headset). The setup was divided into a single VR experience zone along with 10 gaming zones. The gaming zones were utilized for the competition format of the workshop. Students engaged in healthy competition amongst their peers via the latest game created by the evergreen 'Street Fighter' Franchise. It was an amazing event where many bright boys of Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX took part with great enthusiasm. Many students won attractive prizes from SONY INDIA for their smart skills of video games. The organising committee appreciated Birla High School’s status as one of the premier schools in Kolkata with a progressive outlook:- welcoming advanced technology in educational projects.
VINOBA PANDEY of XI SC A and ADITYA CHOPRA of XI SC C took part in Asia-Pacific forum for Science Talented- 2017 in Taiwan from 1st July to 6th July, 2017. Fifteen countries participated in this competition. Vinoba Pandey has won "Best Presentation Award" and Aditya Chopra has won "Most Popular Presentation Award" in this competition.
Jaisuryank Purwar and Eshan Bannerjie of class 9E won the 2nd Prize in English Debate in the Literary Fest ‘Sanglaap 2017’ organized by The Heritage School on 7th July 2017.
Ansh Chandani of class X was one of the four participants who took part in the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition in May. He did the school proud, winning the coveted 2016 Award in Senior Category - Bronze.
A mark of distinction
Debaditya Pramanik of Class XII Sc got the remarkable opportunity to be a part of five member Indian team that represented India in the International Physics Olympiad that was co-hosted by Switzerland and Lichtenstein from July 11 to July 17, 2016 in the city of Zurich and won a gold medal. The Indian team was trained by Homi Bhabha Centre of Science Education.
