Annual day Celebration
Birla High School organised its Annual Day and Prize Distribution Programme over two days, from the 2nd to the 3rd of May 2024. The programme contained a play paying tribute to the great maestro, Satyajit Ray, the Principal’s annual report and the Prize Distribution Ceremony. It all began sharp at 11.00am with the arrival of the Chief Guest for the first day, Ms Sujata Sen, a renowned social worker and for the second day, Mr Barun Chanda, a renowned actor and author. The event started with the emcees briefing the audience about the premise of the play, which was to be staged. After that, the students presented ‘Ray of Hope – A Sustainable Future’, which was an in-house adaptation of Ray’s masterpieces- ‘Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne’ and ‘Hirak Rajar Deshe’. The play endeavoured to make people aware about the Sustainable Development Goals, which are of crucial importance to our future. This was followed by the Chief Guest’s address, where they highlighted the importance of creativity in this age of Artificial Intelligence and lauded the efforts of the team. Following this, the chief guest was invited to give away the prestigious SP Banerjee Award of Excellence, meant to felicitate students who have displayed extraordinary talent in the curricular and co-curricular fields. The Annual Report by the Principal, Mrs Loveleen Saigal officially flagged off the prize distribution ceremony, which recognised meritorious students on academic as well as on co-curricular grounds, meant to facilitate their holistic development. The programme finally ended with the national anthem.
