Career Counselling of 180 students of class X was conducted in groups along with one to one sessions from 19th – 22nd September. Counsellors had come from the Institute of Career Studies, Lucknow to address the queries and suggest the best career option for the students.
ACCOLADES
Birla High School has been ranked No.4 in the Top 10 Boys’ Day School category by Education World. Survey was done by C Force. The award will be given on 12th October, 2022 at Gurugram.
The school has bagged another laurel from Education Today – The Grand Jury Award for Exemplary Digital Learning Efficiency. The award will be given on 11th October, 2022 at New Delhi.
The Telegraph School Awards - It was a proud moment for Birla High School to receive The Telegraph School Award for Excellence in Academics for the Year 2022-23. The finale was organised at St. James School, Kolkata on 3rd September. Principal, Coordinators and student council members were present to receive the award.
Mr. Binay Biswas, Teacher of the Physics Department was felicitated by Oswal Books. He received the Incredible Teacher Award nominated by students and their parents.
IIHM recognised and acknowledged the contribution of Teachers in a very special programme on 13th September. Our Director, Ms. Mukta Nain, the undersigned and Mrs. Renuka Chotrani, Coordinator – Co-curricular Activities were felicitated.
An online student poll and voting done recently by the students of classes XI and XII on the eve of Teacher's Day organized by Pearl Academy and UPES, recognized Mrs. Saswati Chatterjee and Rohan Sengupta from the English Department as Super Teachers.
Teachers’ Day: On 12th September, 2022 the Vidya Mandir Society celebrated Teachers’ Day at Rangmanch, Swabhumi recognising the extraordinary contribution of teachers of Birla High School and three other institutions under the same hub - Birla High School - Mukundapur, Sushila Birla Girls High School and J.D. Birla Institute of Management. The Chief Guest was Dr. Amrita Dass, Educationist and Career Consultant, Founder Director, Institute for Career Studies (ICS) International, Lucknow who delivered the keynote address. She focused on the concept of values and its importance in the field of education. The teachers of Birla High School along with those of our other Institutions under the Vidya Mandir Society were grandly felicitated for their contribution in the session 2021-2022.
Daan Utsav 2022:
A total collection of Rs. 2,75,533 was collected from canteen sales, students and staff of Birla High School, which was fruitfully distributed amongst several Institutions and individuals.
On 20th September, Rs. 6000/- was donated to Dakshin Kolkata Sevashram for a lunch for the poor.
On 21st September, Rs. 10,000/- was donated to Navanir Old Age Home towards groceries.
On 22nd September, Rs. 24,000/- was donated to Hope Foundation for groceries and new clothes for the needy.
On 23rd September, Rs. 30,000/- was donated to the Indian Society for Rehabilitation of Children in Paddapukur towards groceries and diapers.
On 27th September a Laptop and a cheque of Rs. 25,000/- was handed over to the Telegraph Education Foundation for two needy girls towards their education.
Rs. 51,000/- was donated to Sight Savers.
Rs. 31,000/- was donated to Ashari, a Rescue Shelter for Animals.
Rs. 31,000/- was donated to Ahead, an NGO that deals with Autism.
280 sets of student tables and chairs was donated to the Telegraph Foundation and The Lavanya Foundation.
A successful newspaper drive was also organized where children brought newspapers, which were sold to collect funds.

Cyber Security Talk for Students : The management of Vidya Mandir Society had invited Dr. Rakshit Tandon, Cyber Security expert from Gurgaon to specially address the students on many relevant cyber issues viz. cyber bullying, cyber threats and misuse of social media. The talk was organised at G. D. Birla Sabhagar on 15th and 16th September, 2022. Students and parents from classes VI – XI had a very enriching and informative session, where a lot of concerns and queries regarding cyber security were addressed.
IIHM Chef’s Contest : Stepping out of the usual format of fests, IIHM organised a culinary competition for teachers and students. 5 teachers, 10 Junior Chefs, 3 Young Chefs have qualified for the next round which will be held in December.
FUNTAKSHARI 9, a fun filled musical competition was organised by the Alumni on 10th September, 2022 at Birla High School (Mukundapur). The programme was anchored by Birla High School Alumnus, Mr Rajat Baid. 18 prominent school alumni associations participated in this event. In a close fight in the finals between six best teams, ALSOC (St. Xaviers Collegiate) emerged as winners followed by STOPA (St. Thomas School).
