    Community Service Club

    Community Service Club boys of Birla High School had donated groceries on 25th September , 2018 at Indian Society of rehabilitation for children.School had been relentlessly working to reach out different strata of the society in the hours of need.


    Teacher's Day Celebration by the Students

    On 20th September,2018 the students of Birla High School celebrated Teacher's Day where they organised a cultural program for their teachers. The program was well compered by the two emcees who introduced each performance in their inimitable style. Students put up wonderful performances and paid their respects in the form of songs, recitations, dances and a short skit. An amazing performance of mime and a very well made power point presentation won everyone's heart. The program concluded with the vote of thanks from the Student President and his council. 

     

     


    Teachers' Day Celebration

    The Vidya Mandir Society had arranged for a Teachers' Day celebration inviting all the teachers of Birla High School, Sushila Birla Girls School and J.D. Birla Institute. The celebration took place at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium which was presided by Ms. M. Birla, Mr. V. N. Chaturvedi (Brigadier)(Retd), and Ms. M. Nain. The chief guest, Dr. Jai Ranjan Ram, a Senior consulting Psychiatrist, addressed the teachers with his valuable experiences. After his inspiring speech, special prizes were given out to teachers for their commendable performance over the year. The prizes comprised a trophy, certificate and cash. The award ceremony was followed by a sumptuous lunch arranged by the management.

    Workshop on POCSO

    To ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children, a workshop on POCSO
    (Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences, Act) was held on 8th September, 2018 at
    Birla High School. The four hour session was facilitated by a well known trainer-
    psychologist, Mr. Amitabh Mohan and his team. The workshop threw light on the
    various new aspects in school curriculum that would ensure a proper physical and
    psychological climate for a holistic development of children. Mr. Mohan was
    instrumental in making the teachers aware of their overall role and responsibility
    towards the growing up of a child. 
    The main highlight of the session was to make the teachers sensible and aware of the
    Child Rights as a whole in connection to the POCSO Act that has been initiated in 2012.
    The session was marked by various individual and group activities that would facilitate
    every individual to provide a protected environment to the child in his/her growing ages.


    Behtar India Go Green City Summit

    Having recycled the maximum amount of newspapers, books, papers and e-waste in the Eastern region, Birla High School was privileged to host the Behtar India Go Green City Summit on 4th September 2018. Republic TV along with DHFL Pramerica organised the prestigious event. Eminent personalities like Ms. Rupa Ganguly, Mr. Subrata Dutta (environmentalist), Tushar Himatsingka of Vital Waste participated in a panel discussion on environmental issues and recycling. The Principal of the winning school, Birla High School, Mrs. Loveleen Saigal and the runner up school, The Heritage School, Mrs. Seema Sapru also participated in a panel discussion. The top recyclers of Birla High School were felicitated on stage, along with the coordinating teachers of the various schools. The event was attended was attended by all participating schools of the city as well as cities like Guwahati, Siliguri, Ranchi and Jamshedpur.
