  • Annual Excursion of 2017

    Sixty five students accompanied by six teachers enjoyed a trip to Mahabaleshwar during the Puja vacation as a part of their annual educational trip. The “Pratapgarh Fort” a fine product and proof of Shivaji’s  amazing planning and intellect awed the students. They were taken to the famous Arthur Seat and Malcolm Point from where they enjoyed the panoramic view around. The famous Mahabeleshwar Lake, the amusement park, Imagica, Mapro Garden, which hosted the strawberry cultivation, Lonavala, Khandala and the Gateway of India in Mumbai  were all in their visiting list.A Trip to Pune, Mahabaleswar, Lonavala & Imagica.

    Daan Utsav, the annual festival of giving, was celebrated in Birla High School from 14th to 19th September. The students of the community service club visited Hope Foundation’s Ashirvad Home and gifted them a LED Television. Grocery items were gifted to Navaneer old age home as well as Child Rehabilitation Centre, medicines given to Rural Healthcare Foundation and lunch was sponsored in Dakshin Kalikata Sevashram. The students visited and interacted with the elderly as well as the children in these homes. A truly enriching experience for the students as well as teachers.

     

    A special assembly was held on Thursday 14.09.2017 at the prayer hall of Birla High School conducted by the students of Classes 6,7 and 8. The children expressed their concern and love for the wetlands of kolkata through speeches,songs and posters to convey their eco-friendly mission.


    Activity on Behtar Swacchta(by NDTV Behtar India)

     

    The students of Class IX participated in the second stage of the NDTV Behtar India contest, called Behtar Swacchta. A dirty area very close to the school was identified. Footpath vendors running food stalls throw dirty plates, left over food etc on the road itself. The school has gifted them a dustbin and has counselled the vendors to use the dustbin and help keep the surroundings clean and healthy. The event was held on  Thursday, 14th September,2017.

     


    Inter House Debate,2017

    The inter-house debate competition was held on 13th of September 2017 in the auditorium, Birla High School. We witnessed some mind boggling overflow of wit and intelligence of the young minds of 6th, 7th and 8th standards of Birla High School, Kolkata.

    The first position was achieved by the Shivaji house scoring a spectacular 139 marks.

     


    Teachers' Day Celebration- 2017

    The Teachers’ Day 2017 was celebrated very warmly  at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium. The Chief Guest was Mrs.Ameeta Mulla Wattal, an eminent educationist. Her speech motivated the audience very much as she enthusiastically focused on the “Noble Mission” of Teaching and spoke wonderfully on the importance of young learners’ happiness. The Management gave awards to a group of talented teachers too during the Grand Event.
