  • Friends FM School Quiz- Adi Majumdar (Class VIB) and Aarav Kumar (Class VIIIA) have won against St. Xaviers Collegiate School and beat La Martiniere for Boys in the 2nd Semi-Finals held on 27th March’22 and have moved into the finals.

    Fare Thee Well

    Birla High School bid adieu to the batch of class 12 of 2022 on Saturday, March 26. After two long years, circumstances allowed us to arrange a farewell programme for the students. The farewell programme took place in the school ground. The students of class 11 had organised a fun-filled and an engaging programme, making the evening a memorable one for their seniors.

    ACHIEVEMENTS & ACCOLADES

    Ram Daftari (Class X) was awarded for quizzing and debating from amongst 1000 nominations from all over the East Indian States by Telegraph EduGraph, ‘18 Under 18 Awards’, an intiative to recognize the 18 brightest students from across Eastern India. It was held at G. D. Birla Sabhagar on 22nd March’22.

    Arya Banerjee and Ayushman Ghosh of class IX and Nipu Mandhani, Raafey Aziz and Soumil Sen of class X have won Spl. Achievement Cert & Gold Medal in Silver Zone Foundation English Olympiad 2021-22. 

    EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

    An orientation programme was organised on 7th March’22 by The Calcutta Heritage Collection Team. They have initiated a project on Heritage Spots of Kolkata, inception and architectural specialities. Students of class IX visited the places near and on Park Street. They conducted a survey and prepared a write up, which will be published in the organisation’s Booklet.

    Quiz - Ram Daftari and Kannv Dhandhania  of Class X D participated in the The Ultimate Sports Quiz organised by Harsha Bhogle in the Filmalay Studios, Mumbai. Though the team could not qualify for the finals, yet it was a great experience and exposure for our boys as it was an all India Quiz.

    A Memorable Trip To Barrackpore

    A field trip was organised for the boys of class IX by the BHS Alumni and the Vidya Mandir Society on 5th March’22 to Barrackpore Army Cantonment. The trip included a visit to the Museum, Police Academy, Moti Jheel Lake, Tomb of Lady Canning, Mangal Pandey Memorial and the Bindi Tiwari temple. It was indeed an enriching experience for the children, which instilled a sense of patriotism in them.
