Birla High School boys team, accompanied by Mr. Sourav Sen attended a condolence meeting on 28th February 2018. The programme was held at Hotel Gateway and the boys of the school paid tribute to Dr. Dhrubajyoti Ghosh, the Father of East Kolkata Wetlands. Somdipto Chatterjee of Class VII A along with Rhitankar Bose of Class VIII A, Devayudh Dasgupta of IX A, Sourjo Bose of IX B, Garang Dixit of IX E and Samarth Jaiswal of IX E prayed for the peace of the departed soul. The boys also offered floral tributes and wished that commemorative stamps could be released on Dr. Dhrubajyoti Ghosh, as the Founder Leader and protector of the East Kolkata Wetlands. The boys also referred to the importance of the wetlands and expressed their concern for the conservation of biodiversity and welfare of the EKW, globally recognised as a unique ecosystem.
