Prize Distribution Day for classes X and XII(2018-19)

Birla High School celebrated its Prize Distribution Day for classes X and XII students  on   28^th of June,2019 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium. Excellence in all walks of school life and providing a platform to further nurture their creativity, is an integral part of Birla High School. The students  were approbated with certificates, medals and mementoes.  The Guests-in – Chief  were Mrs.and Mr. Arvind Somani, proud parents of Lokesh Somani, the school topper of class X,AISSE Session 2018-2019  and Mrs. and Mr. Lalit Kumar Toshniwal, proud parents of , Harsh Toshniwal, topper of classXII, AISSCE Session 2018-2019.

International Yoga Day

Friday the 21st of June 2019 is the longest and brightest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. On this day people from over 177 nations across the globe joined hands to celebrate the International Yoga Day in body, mind, spirit and soul to heal the human race with all positive vibrations. This day is also celebrated as the World Music Day.
The spirit of universal brotherhood was further strengthened not just in words but in action by our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi . He has been a great source of motivation and inspiration for all teachers and students at Birla High School who put up a great yoga display.
The programme was initiated with a brief introduction on the importance of celebrating the Yoga day and a detailed commentary on the “Asanas” with their benefits by Ms. Deepika R. Kerketta of the English Department. The event began with meditation along with the chant of the divine mantra ‘OM’. The systematic beating of drums signaled over 40 students from classes 7 & 8 to perform ‘Group Yoga demonstration’ based on the Common Yoga Protocol .
The students performed a wide range of challenging ‘ Asanas’ The yoga boys were able to create a pristine ambiance with the chant of the mantra and the asanas such as Utthit- Padmasana, Ushtrasana, Dhanurasana, Gomukhasana, Virbhadrasana etc. the audidience comprised the co-ordinator of classes 7 & 8, Ms. P.Bansali co-ordinator of class 6, studentsof class 10 and teachers.
The event was a grand success , under the supervision of Mr. Bangal H.O.D. Physical Education Department and Ms. R. Arora . The event has been able to en-thuse a greater number of students and teachers to practice Yoga on a day to day basis. The Gayatri mantra by all the boys present in the assembly hall.
