  • Saraswati Puja 2020

Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 29th January, 2020 in the school prayer hall. The weather was gloomy but this did not dampen the joy and enthusiasm of the students who came dressed in bright and colorful attire suited to the occasion.

The programme started at 9 am with an English speech by Udit Arun Nath of class IX C followed by a Hindi speech by Priyansh Vyas of VI C on the importance of this day. The programme continued with the rendition of Saraswati vandana by the school choir, a Bengali recitation by Dhrubanshu Saha of VIII C, an English speech by Aditya Basu of class VII A and then a lively dance performance by the students. Lastly the Principal gave a speech wishing all the students great success in their forthcoming examination.

Sweetmeats were distributed among students and teachers after the end of the programme.

    The Farewell

The Farewell started with almost a resounding roar of BHS! BHS! However, there was an underlying sense of gloom somewhere in the proceedings. It was the last time the batch of class 12 would ever attend a school event being part of the school. The theme for the farewell was ‘Men in Black’. All the students were dressed like perfect gentlemen, ideally decked up for the occasion. The first event lined up was the band performance and they showed their wonderful repertoire with songs like Knocking on heaven’s door, Country Roads take me home and many more. The Farewell song was highly appreciated and it really made the students nostalgic. The dance team followed with a breathtaking performance. The crowd was up on their feet, dancing to the various steps. The entire show was hosted very efficiently by a team of emcees who subtly introduced all the awards. There were various prizes given away by special invitees. Mr. Humanities award went to Rayan Chakrabarti, Mr. Commerce to Jatin Poddar and Mr. Science to Skand Sharma. Mr. BHS was awarded jointly to Mayank Chaudhary and Aman Kumar Shah, the Student President of the School and the President of the school fest Odyssey, respectively. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a fitting farewell to the batch who has given so much to the school to be proud of.
