ROAD SAFETY& NO HORN CAMPAIGN

MONTH-JANUARY

  Birla High School takes its social responsibility seriously. Road Safety is one such measure which the school promotes in a big way with the help of the Kolkata Traffic Police.

           The target of the No Horn and Road Safety Campaign is to control the noise created in the vicinity by noisy drivers with no consideration for the traffic rules. Students of the school endeavour to instill among the pedestrians respect for the traffic rules. During this time the students speak to many pedestrians, taxi drivers and bus drivers, informing them about the increasing dangers of Indian roads and encouraging them to drive and walk more safely. To realize this aim the students position themselves in various key points along the entire stretch of the Hungerford street with placards to reinforce the campaign.

   The students have made posters and placards with various thought provoking road safety quotes. Students with their posters make the pedestrians and the drivers aware of the traffic rules.  This co- curricular activity instills in the students a sense of responsibility to nurture better citizens for the country in times to come. The principal of our school ,Ms Mukta Nain has always motivated the students with support and encouragement to make the campaign a success.  This initiative taken up by the students of classes IX & X has brought relief not only to students studying in the school but also to the residents alike.
