  • CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION IN BHS 2019

    The students of Birla High School, classes VI to VIII, put up a special assembly on Christmas on 23rd December, 2019.  A number of Christmas carols were sung with joy by the school choir with the students and teachers joining in enthusiastically.  One of our sr. teachers, Mr Goutam  Ghosh, dressed up as Santa Claus, distributed sweets among the children while dancing and swaying to  the rhythmic beats and spreading the spirit of  love and cheer all around.

    After the programme, Santa Claus visited each class and distributed sweets to the students.

    The entire programme was well organized by the three senior teachers, Mr. Anindo Saha, Mr J. Arokioswamy and Mr S. Thomas.

    Annual Sports Day,2019


    The Annual Sports of Birla High School was held on the 13 th of December, 2019 from 10 am at Gitanjali Stadium. Mr Ajoy Kumar, IPS officer, Inspector General of Police C I D, kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the day. The Principal declared the sports meet open and the first event of the day was the March Past by all the four Houses. This was followed by karate,pyramid and then a yoga display by the students. The spectacular drill display by the students of classes 6, 7 and 8 left the audience spellbound.Track events started soon after. There were relay races for parents and teachers too.The Best March Past trophy was won by Pratap House while the Best House Trophy was bagged by Ashok House. The event ended with the Sports Secretary, Aman Bardia giving the vote of thanks.

    Inter House IT Competition,2019

    The finale of the Inter House IT competition for classes VI to X was held on 18th December.2019.   Classes VI to VIII were divided into six groups, each comprising three students. The topic given to them was ‘Green City - Clean City’ and the students worked on MS PowerPoint and were also provided with internet access. The winner was Netaji House.  Classes IX & X were expected to create a webpage using Flash, GIMP, etc. They were divided into 6 groups of two students each.  Their topic was ‘Safe  Drive- Save Life’ and they used HTML, Java Script, CSS, Flash, GIMP, browser and Internet connections to develop the web pages.  The winner was Tagore House.  The Best House in IT Competition was Netaji House.
