  • EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

    •Students of IX and X participated in the celebration of National Poetry Month organised by American Centre and held at Oxford Book Store on 27th April’22, titled ‘There’s a Poem in this Place’. The group which stood 1st included Akshath Gupta from Class IX. 

    Special Assemblies: Students of X conducted an assembly to mark Earth Day on 22nd and 23rd April.

    • Online Orientation Programmes for IX and X was conducted on 23rd April.

    The Annual Day And Prize Distribution - The annual concert was screened on YouTube and the Facebook page of Birla High School on  23rd April. The story of the ‘Myth of Tutunkhamun‘ was explored  through the play titled ‘Timeless Tut’. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was also conducted for the session 2021-22.

    •Essays and Paintings were selected from students of Classes IX-XII on the theme ‘India in 2047’ for a Coffee Table Book to be published by the Birla High School Alumni.

    Engage with Science is a collaboration between Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and IBM. Birla High School teachers have been registered and the science department shares videos based on various science related issues with the students of Classes VI - XII on a regular basis.

    Club Activity : Club activities resumed after two years, in the session 2022-23. The clubs for classes IX and X will be held on every Tuesday.The Legacy Club celebrated World Heritage Day and Bengali New year on 18th April. The Senior club made charts and video for the occasion and speeches were organised by the club members for the Heritage Day.

    •Vasudev Aarvind of Birla High School Class VI, participated in an online non-competitive event organised by Bichitra Pathshala headed by Mrs. Subha Das Mollick . He conducted research on Migration and its impact on Kolkata, and the presentation was highly appreciated.

    Online Orientation Programmes for Classes VI –VIII was conducted on 9th April.

    •The students from Classes VI - VIII participated in various quiz programmes like Durgapur NIT Quiz,  Friends FM Finals where our school team stood third.

    • Students of Class VII and VIII participated in the World Earth day programme and Class VIII boys made a presentation on ‘Avoidable Plastics in our Day to Day Life’. The presentation was appreciated by all.

    • Students of classes VI –VIII registered themselves for the Engage with Science interactivity platform. Videos based on various science related issues are shared with the students of Classes VI - XII on a   regular basis.

    COVID 19 VACCINATION CAMP

    Birla High School in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) had organized a Vaccination camp for Covid 19 for the boys of 12-14 years on 6th April, 2022. Corbevax was administered free of cost. A total number of 219 students were inoculated. The entire process was seamless and this initiative take by the management turned out to be a successful one.
