Birla High School (Senior Section)

‘Odyssey,’ the mega 14^th chapter of the inter-school fest of our school was held over three days. On 20^th July the off-stage events were held at Space Circle. The on stage events were held on 27^th and 28^th July. The event came to an end with a scintillating performance by the eminent singer, Ms. Shilpa Rao from Mumbai. Eleven schools participated in the fest. Birla High School bagged the winners trophy with Sushila Birla Girls’ School in 2^nd position and DPS- Newtown in 3^rd position.

Science Excursion to BITM - A Science and Mathematics educational excursion to Birla Industrial & Technological Museum was organised on 18 July. 122 students of class 8 accompanied by 12 teachers experienced live demonstrations on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

The 24th L.N. Birla Memorial Invitational Debate was hosted in the Vidya Mandir Auditorium on 10th and 11th July. Sixteen schools, out of which two were outstation schools, debated on the topic 'Artificial Intelligence is a Necessary Evil Of The 21st Century'. Eight teams qualified for the finals and debated on 'Higher Education is an Exercise in Elitism'.

-Mainak Biswas and Suchetana Sen won the Best Team Award - which consisted of a cheque of Rs. 5000/-, the Best Team Trophy and an I-Pad for each of the contestants.

-The Runner Up Team was Ram Daftari and Md. Anas Ali, from the host school.

-Suchetana Sen, also from DPS Ruby Park, received the Best Speaker Award. She was awarded with a certificate, a cheque of Rs. 5000/-, the Birla High School Trophy, the Alumni Trophy and a Samsung Smart Phone.  

-The Runner-up Speaker was Mainak Biswas of Delhi Public School, Ruby Park.

The Investiture Ceremony in Birla High is a day of utmost importance. Every year, the best of the best- the crème de la crème- are nominated as the prestigious student body, which guides the school to all-round excellence. The student council members are facilitated with a badge, one that is of great honour and significance. With 23 new dashing, diligent and intelligent members, the
student council holds an integral position in the school- of which, every single post-
holder is responsible for making the school a better and harmonious place.
