INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2018-19

Investiture ceremony for 2018-2019 was held at Birla High School on 5th July 2018 at Vidya Mandir Auditorium. The young leaders at Birla High School upholding the motto and vision of the school.

INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

The Inter-house Debate competition for the session 2018-19 was held on 27^th June, 2018 in the Vidya Mandir Auditorium. Classes 9 and 10 had their debate in the first half of the day on the topic “Peer pressure is more harmful than beneficial to individuals” while classes 11 and 12 had it in the second half on the topic “Technology hampers human creativity”. The Chairperson for both debates was Mr. Indrajeet Bannerjie, an ex- student of Birla High School, who is currently studying at the West Bengal National University of Judicial Sciences. The judges for classes 9 and 10 were Ms. Indrani Banerjee and Ms. Malancha Majumdar and the judges for classes 11 and 12 were the undersigned and Ms. Uma Rajan. It was an enthralling debate with equally strong arguments proposed by both the proposition and the opposition. The house which emerged as the best house among classes 9 and 10 was Pratap house with Jai Suryank Purwar and Manav Sindhi as its members. The best speaker award was bagged by Jai Suryank Purwar of class 10 E representing Pratap House. Bagging the prize for the best team among class 11 and 12 was none other than Gandhi house with Aalekh Roychoudhary and Arinjoy Banerjee as its members. Last but not the least, winning the best speaker award was Aalekh Roychoudhary from Gandhi House.

All in all it was a marvelous experience witnessed by both teachers and students.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CELEBRATION

Birla High School organised its Prize Distribution ceremony on 27 April,2018 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium. Giving recognition and glorifying students who have excelled themselves in academics as well as students who are outstanding in co curricular activities, is an integral part of Birla High School. The students of classes 10 and 12 for the academic session 2017-2018 were approbated with certificates, medals and mementoes which was preceded by a short cultural programme. The occassion was graced by Guests in Chief, Mrs. and Mr.Rajeev Sharma , parents of Skand Sharma, topper of class 10 (session 2017-2018) and Mrs. and Mr. Vikas Chandak, proud parents of Devansh Chandak, topper of class12 (session 2017-2018) who were welcomed by bouquets.

International Yoga Day

Students at Birla High School celebrated the ‘International Yoga Day’ on 21^st of June 2018 for the fourth year since its inception in the year 2015. Over 60 students from classes 7 & 8 have showcased ‘Meditation’ along with ‘Group Yoga demonstration’ based on the Common Yoga Protocol. Our students at Birla High school were a part of a human chain of over 177 countries celebrating the Yoga day on the longest day of the northern hemisphere radiating  positivity , happiness and hope for a better, safer and healthier world.
